Taking the tree house apart to build a front porch and green house at the new spot. An a-frame will go here once we’re done with that.
Home sweet home!
Flooding!
Our big creek flooded! It’s usually 15 feet across now it’s 40+ feet and nearing our shed. 90% of our stuff is in the shed so we are keeping a close eye on the rain. We might have to start taking things out and stacking them under the treehouse. Our a-frame site seems to be ok. It is sandy down there and has really good drainage. The treehouse is like a castle surrounded by a moat right now!
Playtime in the treehouse.
We had ourselves a quiet little Christmas. Hope everyone else had a day with filled with love and laughter their families!
Here are a few snap shots of the bathroom, it still needs a few things but its works!
The top left is our composting toilet
Top right is a galvanized washbasin that is our shower/tub that drains into
a grey water tank below the
treehouse.
Bottom right is the shower head wall and a spectacular view of the creek!
The back of the treehouse! We still need to frame the big picture window. Making a little progress everyday.
Almost finished with our fence! This place is going to be magical in the spring!
Christmas came early this year when we adopted this orphaned piglet! Mazzy has named her ‘Moon’.
Treehouse stairs are finally done!
A treehouse Xmas!
Treehouse naps. It is really peaceful sleeping in the treehouse next to the big picture window. There is something magical about being IN the trees.
Today’s Project: A much needed bed frame for our mattress!
Jacob
Just a typical weekend on the homestead. Music with the kids and an audience of chickens.
Treehouse door. We call it a hobbit door because its 5’2” tall and about 22” wide. We are going to fashion a handle out of a tree branch and on the inside we are going to hang a deerskin to help reduce drafts.
