Yes, that is a washboard. No, I haven’t been transported to the 1800’s. We are saying goodbye to the laundry mat and throwing away $20 each visit!! I am excited to make this transition and be more self sufficient on the homestead. I am brand new to all this so anyone with a good laundry detergent recipe let me know! Do I need washing soda? I didn’t pick any up yet.
We picked up the washtub at the general store and the washboard we bought from an interesting neighbor of ours. She is 90 and used to use this washboard! She has a big barn filled with treasures that she used to sell a few years back. We could have got one of those new aluminum ones but I thought was so much cooler!
