About Us

I’m a Dad, the Dad! An Adventurer, Mustachioed, Motorcycle Enthusiast, Grumpy Old Man, Former HGTV carpenter, Builder, and Husband. I’m heading up this Expedition/Adventure that is our lives and keeping our feet firmly planted on the ground as to not slip away into the clouds!
Our decision to leave our beach front home in Los Angeles behind and move to the Eastern Tennessee Mountains largely has to do with quality of life for us and more importantly our children. The direction things are going today it is hard not to see the writing on the wall and it is a large part of why we have decided to become more self reliant/sustainable. I can’t deny that there is hippie within waiting to bust out! While I do have some delusions of grandeur, I’m looking forward to some hard work and a slower more meaningful pace of life.

Mama of 2. Lover of all things vintage. Hippie at heart. Future homeschool teacher. I ♥ staying home with my kiddos and in my free time I create little embroidery pieces, check out my Etsy here —> I Heart Zeppy. I am excited about our adventure and the new life we will be giving our children. I am passionate about organic food so I can’t wait to start growing our own! We don’t vaccinate our children and we are transitioning away from using chemicals in our daily lives. I use apple cider vinegar & baking soda to clean and I use a combination of baking soda, brown sugar, honey and apple cider vinegar on my hair.

Our rambunctious 3 year old. She loves camping, nature and art. She will choose to watch a nature documentary over cartoons and she is a huge sweetheart. She is our little explorer and really excited about our move!

Our baby boy recently turned 1 and is just starting to walk. He is a happy-go-lucky baby and loves music, especially drums. He looks up to his big sister and loves playing outdoors with her. He handled his first camping trip like a champ and he is a happy guy when he is outside enjoying the sun.
